yuzu Emulator – the Nintendo Switch emulator has received a mobile version. According to the developers, they have made a lot of progress in the development of the emulator on the PC over the past year and now is the right time to expand on Android Smartphones. Yuzu developers note that the mobile version of Yuzu does not yet support LAN multiplayer and different management profiles. So far, they are focused on the stability of the emulator and support for a large number of games.
A little background of Yuzu on Android
Last year, Yuzu developers made great progress in emulating games with Nintendo Switch on PC. And they realized that the longer they wait, the more difficult it will be to support the Android platform. Therefore, from now on, updates for Yuzu will be released for PC and Android; this will achieve “platform independence”.
Yuzu system requirements for Android
At the moment, Yuzu supports only smartphones with Snapdragon chipsets, which have Adreno video chips. In the near future, chipsets like Exynos and Mediatek will work much worse. A smartphone suitable for emulating games with Nintendo Switch via Yuzu must have:
- Minimum Android 11;
- Snapdragon 865 or better;
- 8 GB of RAM or higher.
Yuzu on Android supports different drivers for video chips. For a separate game, you need to select a separate driver, because “the last one does not mean the best.” Devices with Adreno 600 series video chips and the Mesa Turnip driver cope best with emulation.
